Regular routine 'can help freelancers'
Monday, 08 March 2010
Freelance consultants and contractors could keep a regular daily routine in order to boost their productivity.

This is the suggestion of Chris Pyatt, Director and Lead Designer at Class Creative, who gave his tips on how a disciplined approach to project management can pay dividends for self-employed people. Writing for Creative Boom, he extolled the benefits of having a routine to "break up the day".

This could be a better approach than staying indoors for long hours and could include a walk to the shops or a run.

Also, Mr Pyatt added that allocating strict time limits during client meetings can help in terms of getting the most from such encounters.

"A strict agenda and goals strategy prior to each meeting are important to your success," he observed.

Moreover, it could be said that contractors should not spend too much time writing and responding to emails, as this takes up a significant part of the day.
