23rd February, 2000 - Constitution - Result of Ballot

NEW RULES
The result of the ballot conducted on 19, 20, 21 of February 2000, to approve the new Articles of Association, is as follows:

  • FOR - 1602
  • AGAINST - 4

And accordingly the new Articles have been adopted.

MEMBERSHIP
PCG will from now on handle membership differently.

Until now members of the Professional Contractors Group have not been members (in the legal sense) of the company Professional Contractors Group LTD, but have been rather members of a group run by the company.

As a paid-up subscriber to the PCG you are now eligible to apply to become a Member (in the legal sense) of PCG Ltd. All new members of PCG will be Members in this sense. This means the company is owned by the members. It remains a non-profit company limited by guarantee, with no share capital.

You can choose not to become a Member of PCG Ltd, and you will continue to enjoy exactly the same access to the web site, forums and information as at present, but you will not be able to vote on issues affecting the Company.

You may apply to become a Member of PCG Ltd at any time while your subscription is current, and your membership will run until the anniversary of your original subscription to PCG. (There is, of course, nothing more to pay).

You are recommended to become a Member of PCG Ltd, and will be given the opportunity to apply online when you visit the members area of the PCG web site.

Elections to the Consultative Council
Under the new rules, PCG will elect a Consultative Council consisting of 30 members, who will then elect a new chairman and appoint directors.

The elections to the Consultative Council will take place on 1/2 March and nominations open today (22 February) and close at midnight 28 February.

The entire process will be conducted online in the members enclosure of the PCG web site;

  • On entry to the members area you will be prompted with the request for (legal) membership to PCG Ltd (if you have not already accepted/delcined); http://www.ir35update.co.uk/members/vote/pcgltd.cgi - link expired
  • Nominations to the Consultative Council are being taken at; http://www.ir35update.co.uk/members/vote/candidates.cgi - link expired

You will only be able to take part in the nominations if you have applied for full Membership of PCG Ltd, as described above.
