10th November, 2000 - PCG rides high
PCG Rides High
At the end of September, PCG set out to raise its profile as
the recognised voice of independent contractors. Since then,
and on the back of last months JR permission result, there
has been a noticeable change in acceptance and attitude towards
the PCG. Politicians, press, clients, accountants and agencies
are all just that bit more aware of the strength and attitude
that personifies the PCG. Autumn 2000 is (yet another) landmark
time for PCG members. Use the links below to update on PCG activities.
Conference Review
A written report from Gareth Williams and photographs of the
first PCG conference are now available. Video extracts of the
key note speech by management guru, Sir John Harvey-Jones will
be released shortly. The event proved a success and attendees
were reminded of the professionalism and character of the PCG
membership.
Discount Health Cover for members
PCG is pleased to launch the first major affinity deal for members.
Medibroker Online are able to provide Private Medical Insurance
for members at a 25% discount off the standard retail rate.
The scheme is placed with Royal & Sun Alliance, who will use
a designated team for PCG enquiries. Potentially members can
earn back more than the cost of PCG membership through this
new deal;

Those that attended were very positive towards our message.
The next seminar takes place on November 23 in London. We
have signed up High St banks, retailers and a huge (but soon
to be smaller) telecoms company. If you would like to invite
your client to attend, please see

PCG at FSB Exhibition
Stand number 2 at Olympia, occupied by PCG was both well visited
and to a lesser extent, avoided. Thanks to all members who gave
up their time and who gave the PCG line to all who passed. Chancellor
Gordon Brown gave an opening speech highlighting the importance
of small business. He was invited across to view the stand,
but unfortunately he was steered away at the last moment.Photos
and video are available;
