26th March, 2001 - JR Decision Date

JR DECISION DATE

Judgement for the judicial review will be handed down Monday 2nd April at 10.30 am

How is the ruling handed down?
We have been told to expect a written ruling which means the hearing should not take long. The written ruling will reach Gerald Barling (PCG QC) before the court session, but we will *not* be in any position to publicise the result before 10.30am on Monday.

The PCG legal team will be in High Court to receive the news. How will the result be publicised?
As soon as we have it, news will be published on PCGs JR update site:

http://www.ir35update.co.uk

Additional updates, comments and analysis will be published first on this site, so please use it as your first port of call.

We are using this public site as it is faster to download and puts less load on the server. All news will be published on this site and not in the discussion boards. This update site is important we now know that even the Inland Revenue officials have been using it to get the latest news. NB Generally, the load increases at lunchtime and please be aware that constantly refreshing the site will slow down performance for everybody.

What arrangements are we making for the Press?
Again our communications centre (aka the War Room) will again be upstairs in the Cheshire Cheese pub. The media have been invited to attend the Cheshire Cheese for interviews, briefings or photographs throughout the day. Once again interested members are also welcome to drop in. If you are asked, or would like to speak to the Press, Susie Hughes will be available (at the Cheshire Cheese) to offer some guidance on presenting your case clearly.
