1. PCG Council Elections 2002

PCG Members are encouraged to participate in the 2002 election process. The current Council members are vacating 29 of the 30 places on the Consultative Council (CC), and nominations for these places open 18th February 2002, and will close after one month (18th March).

Now is the time to consider if you wish to stand for election. PCG needs an active and vibrant CC to ensure continued success in achieving our aims. IR35 still needs to be overcome, while recent lobbying activity on other issues, such as fast track visas, agency regulations and self-employment legislation shows that PCG now has a much broader influence.

The CC is the guiding body of PCG with the primary responsibility of electing the new Chairman and next Board of Directors who will have ultimate responsibility of running PCG. Throughout the year, the main role of the CC is to assist the Board on all issues relevant to members. This is a chance to influence the future of our successful organisation.

Full details of the election procedures and CC role including
1. Consultative Council Elections Rules
2. Role & Conduct of the Consultative Council
3. Status of 2001/2002 Current Council Members
4. Election Timetable
5. Election Statements

If you do not receive your mail, please email [email protected]

5. Contract Review Service

In the run up to last years P35 completion, there was a rush to obtain information on status. PCG recommends that members start thinking about this as early as possible, in order to have access to the best independent advice for what is a crucial decision. Many members will have already received their P35 form for this financial year and will know that it must be returned by May 19th 2002.

To make up your own mind on your IR35 status, we recommend using PCG´s online contract review service. The online status questionnaire provides guidance for both the contract and the overall business picture. This members only system has been used over 5,000 times since it was launched one year ago.

PCG members are also able to obtain formal opinions on contract status at special PCG discounted rates, choosing from six professional advisors.
NB. some of the key contract review suppliers have signalled that they will increase review prices from 1st March.
Taking professional advice will give you confidence and certainty for this decision. See the recent newsletter for full details at:
