Further news from Revenue
We have received a 7 page letter from the Inland Revenue
with further details of how they would see the new rules
being implemented. We have posted this to the site, together
with our initial analysis.
Campaign Group
Over the past 10 days, we have sought the involvement of,
not only Contractors, but also, Accountants and Agents.
Although the objective of a concerted voice would appear
admirable it has proven difficult to implement. This would
perhaps reflect that each group has differing objectives.
For background to this see exchange of emails
We therefore would like to receive your views on forming
a campaign group that will be focused on the interests of
the Contractors, in the IT and Engineering sector and to
build on the work started by engineerjob.com. If this should
go ahead at a future date, when our campaign is up and running,
we will seek to involve the end-user and others, but the
main aim will always be to protect the interests of the
Contractor. Such a group would have one focus, that of addressing
the issues contained within ir35.
Before we form the campaign and accept money we would like
to guage the likelihood of our being able to raise sufficient
funds.
(see https://www.pcgroup.org.uk/join.html
for estimates). We are looking for minimum contributions
of 50 per contractor (please note any contribution made
to engineerjob.com will be transferred across)
We would be grateful if you would send a blank email message
to [email protected] if you are in agreement that this
Group should be formed. We have set a target of 2000 emails
by close of business on Tuesday May 4th to provide sufficient
confidence that such a campaign will be properly funded.
