Survey published into the impact of IR 35: Posted 16th
May 1999
Over 3000 UK Contractors were surveyed on the impact of
IR 35. The results show that, unless carefully considered,
the proposed regulations will have a serious impact upon
the UK and the knowledge based sector in particular.
Concern over Legislation by the 'back door': Posted

The Professional Contractors' Group is concerned that the
Government has tabled an 11th Hour and 59th minute amendment
to the Welfare Reform and Pensions Bill which could well
start the legislative process to implement the IR 35 Budget
proposals.

In response to a question from Vincent Cable (Lib/Dem) Alan
Milburn, Labour Treasury spokesman stated "no legitimate
service businesses will be affected by this proposed measure".
