The PCG has established itself as the only body that can truly claim to represent the interests of independent contractors. Formed in response to the unpopular IR35 legislation, the PCG is now an official trade body representing the interests of contractors on a variety of subjects.

The PCG has lobbied the relevant Government departments and presented the contractor's point of view for all important issues including the E-Commerce regulation, the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Bill (RIP), the Agency Regulations, work permits , Section 660a and of course the finance bill.
