The Professional Contractors Group
is a professional trade organisation set-up to represent the interests
of all knowledge based workers. The Group is now the fastest growing
professional organisation ever in the UK with over 10,000 members
signing up in the first year.
The PCG was formed in May 1999 to provide independent
contractors and consultants with a representative voice in opposition
to the original IR35 proposals. Since then the Group has developed
rapidly from a one issue campaign to a full professional body, representing
contractors interests and providing a voice at the top table for
all relevant issues, such as the E-Commerce bill, Agency regulations
and others. |
Our definition of a knowledge based worker is a 'professional
person who completes a task using intellect and experience rather than
machinery and tools'. The PCG now represents a wide variety of contractors'
interests including Oil and Gas contractors, engineers of all types, telecomms
specialists, pharmaceutical researchers and of course IT professionals
who make up the majority of our membership. Click here
for an overview of membership benefits.
We also offer the benefits of Affiliate membership to
Accountants, Agents, Lawyers, Clients and other interested parties in
order to share our message and the information we produce.
